Play Like A Pro 3 on 3 Summer Hockey League

RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE 2008 SEASON

1.  Full ice hockey equipment is required to play in the Play Like A Pro 3 on 3 Summer Hockey League.

2.   Each team will consist of nine (9) skaters and two (2) goalies.

3.  Games will be 48 minutes in length.
                  ●  The first twelve (12) minutes will consist of a 3 on 3 skill development game.
                  ●  Game types will vary weekly and will carry on until a winner is decided.
                  ●  The remaining thirty six (36) minutes will consist of a 3 on 3 game.

4.   Each game shall be officiated by one (1) referee.

5.   All scorekeeping conducted during 3 on 3 games will be done so by Play Like A Pro Summer  Hockey
      League team coaches.

6.  All 3 on 3 game shifts are one (1) minute in length measured by sound of horn to indicate shift
changes. The players coming onto the ice surface must skate to the designated area (marked
on the ice) and wait for the on-ice official to place the puck and signal the start of the shift.

7.  If a goal is scored, the on-ice official will place a different puck in the designated starting area as soon
as one (1) player from each team is in the vicinity of said area.

8.  Warnings will be issued to teams and/or players who, at the sound of the horn, do not immediately exit
the ice surface to keep the game moving.

Teams who continually play dead pucks at the end of a shift (after the horn has sounded) will be
      issued a penalty.

9.  No stoppages of play will be issued for the following violations:
                               ●  Offside
                               ●  Icing

10.  Goaltenders are not allowed to freeze the puck.
Accordingly, all players must give the goaltender sufficient space to play the puck. If the
on-ice official assesses that the goaltender is not given adequate special allowance to
safely move the puck, the play is whistled dead and a different  puck shall be placed in
a designated neutral area whereupon play shall resume.

11.  If a penalty occurs, the on-ice official will signify a penalty by blowing a whistle and awarding a
penalty shot to the player who the infraction occurred against.

The set up for all penalty shot shall be as follows:
Withstanding the player taking the shot, the remaining players on the ice
surface shall place themselves behind the shooter. These players can follow
up the shooter, but must remain behind the shooter at all times. Any and all
rebound opportunities that may result from the penalty shot sequence are
                                       considered playable.
NOTE: All called infractions result in a penalty shot awarded to the opposing team.

If a bench penalty is called by the on-ice official, any player on the ice for the opposing team will be
permitted to take the penalty shot.

12.  Checking is NOT permitted in the Play Like A Pro 3 on 3 Summer Hockey League at any level.

by the Play Like A Pro 3 on 3 Summer Hockey League Director.
